Paris Orchestra - Free at the Louvre

Maurice Ravel was a very attractive French composer who is best known for "Bolero," which he called "a piece for orchestra without music." He belonged to a turn-of-the-century group of artists, musicians and poets known as "Les Apaches" (the hooligans) who met regularly to argue, inspire each other and test out new material. He was also good friends with and influenced by Debussy. I am into all of this, and if you are too, you're in luck. The Orchestre de Paris will be playing selections from Maurice Ravel under the pyramid at the Louvre this Tuesday, under the direction of Mikko Franck. At a cost of FREE, it's a Festivus miracle! Check out one of the pieces they'll be playing:
